Eric Clapton Announces 2027 UK Tour and Royal Albert Hall Return
Eric Clapton has unveiled plans for a new run of UK tour dates scheduled for May 2027. The upcoming schedule brings the legendary guitarist back to his traditional second home at London’s Royal Albert Hall for a multi-night residency, alongside an opening date in Birmingham.
The 2027 Tour Dates and Venue History
Clapton will kick off the short UK run with a one-off performance at Birmingham’s BP Pulse Live on May 17, 2027. Following the opening night, he will head to London’s 5,000-capacity Royal Albert Hall for a four-night residency.
The confirmed schedule includes performances on May 20, 21, 23, and 24 at the iconic London venue. The final night of the run marks a significant milestone, bringing Clapton’s total solo performances at the venue to 220.
Clapton’s history with the venue spans decades, starting with his first performance there as a member of The Yardbirds in December 1964. He later took the stage for Cream’s famous 1968 farewell dates and their subsequent 2005 reunion. As a solo artist, his extensive residencies at the venue include the 1990 and 1991 shows that produced the landmark 24 Nights box set.
Recent Activity and Canceled Shows
The upcoming UK dates mark a return to the stage in England following a quiet 2026 for local fans, which included only two intimate warm-up shows in Guildford. Earlier this year, Clapton headlined the seventh Crossroads Guitar Festival at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, featuring a massive bill of guests including Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr., Billy Gibbons, Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, and John Mayer.
Clapton was previously scheduled to headline a major outdoor show at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk with special guest Ronnie Wood, but the performance was canceled alongside all other summer shows promoted by Heritage Live due to low ticket sales and rising industry costs.
Tickets for the newly announced May 2027 dates go on sale via Bookings Direct and official venue channels, following a fan club presale.
