  • 1987 Pink Floyd began the A Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in Ottawa despite a legal challenge from former member Roger Waters. A later settlement let the group continue using the name.
  • 2003 Warren Zevon died of mesothelioma at 56. He was best known for Excitable Boy and its hit “Werewolves of London.”
  • 2011 Buddy Holly received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a ceremony attended by his widow Maria Elena and Phil Everly.
  • 2018 The U.S. Postal Service issued a commemorative John Lennon stamp using a photograph by Bob Gruen.
