Lindsey Buckingham Teases 2027 Project With Stevie Nicks
Relations between Fleetwood Mac’s most volatile creative pairing continue to thaw. Lindsey Buckingham has offered fresh hints about a future project involving Stevie Nicks, suggesting that fans can expect developments.
Speaking in a recent interview, Buckingham revealed that he and Nicks are in regular communication. “Stevie and I are talking all the time now,” Buckingham said. “Next year should be a pretty interesting year, because I think quite a few things will reveal themselves.”
A Long Road to Reconciliation

The warming relationship marks a dramatic shift from the years following Buckingham’s departure from Fleetwood Mac in 2018. That exit sparked a legal battle that was ultimately settled out of court. As recently as 2024, Nicks noted that their only post-split interaction had been a brief three-minute exchange at a January 2023 memorial event for late bandmate Christine McVie.
Things began to shift in late 2025 when Nicks revealed the two had been communicating ahead of a reissue of their 1973 pre-Fleetwood Mac album, Buckingham Nicks. Buckingham credited that reissue and an upcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary directed by Frank Marshall as catalysts for their renewed connection.
“I think the process of making that has been a very circular healing process for all of us,” Buckingham said, noting that they had left things in 2019 on poor terms. “No one was happy about it, and all of that has been healed and worked out.”
Tour Speculation and Future Plans
While Buckingham stopped short of confirming a full band reunion or a joint tour, he did not rule out the possibility of touring without McVie, pointing to the 15 years the band successfully toured and recorded following her initial departure in the late 1990s. Nicks currently has a completely blank concert calendar following her last shows in April.
In the meantime, fans await the release of Marshall’s forthcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary and whatever surprises Buckingham and Nicks have in store for next year.
