Charles Pope
Charles Walter Pope co-founded The Tams in Atlanta with his brother Joseph Pope. The group took its name from the tam o’shanter hats they wore on stage, and became a mainstay of Southern beach music. Pope led one of the two touring line-ups until his death from Alzheimer’s disease in 2013.
