1959

Did you buy a five dollar ticket?” When police backstage instructed Joplin to tell the audience to take their seats, she replied, “I’m not telling them shit.” After being arrested in her dressing room and booked early the following morning, Joplin was quickly issued on bond, leading to a delayed legal resolution where the severe charges were dropped or settled via a minor fine in absentia.

1970

Stephen Stills issues his self-titled, debut, solo album in the US on Atlantic Records. Rock history records that It would reach #8 in Great Britain and #3 in America, yielding two hit singles, “Love The One You’re With” (US #14, UK #37) and “Sit Yourself Down” (US #37).
