On the song, Jack Black croons about how he doesn’t engage in video games… except for God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Fallout 4. As the song concludes, Black exclaims, “That’s it; that’s the one. It’s on the album.” Discover the “Video Games” video below.
In a statement regarding “Video Games,” the comedic pair of Jack Black and Kyle Gass stated: “It’s about maturing and abandoning juvenile things… But then realizing that video games are more than mere mindless playthings… In reality, they can be a genuine manifestation of immense concepts that deserve a place among the great works of art! It’s high time someone stood up for the honor and integrity of this daring new frontier. Leave it to the most exceptional band in the world… Tenacious D!!!”
The latest song arrives amidst Tenacious D’s brief spring US tour, culminating with performances tonight (May 11th) in New Orleans and Saturday (May 13th) in St. Augustine, Florida. The duo will then embark on a series of European festivals in June. Tickets for their upcoming shows can be found here.
The Tenacious D melody follows Jack Black’s individual release “Peaches” as well. The heartfelt ballad from The Super Mario Bros. Movie recently entered the Billboard Hot 100 after gaining popularity on YouTube and other streaming platforms.

Tenacious D’s Biography
Tenacious D is a comedic rock pair hailing from Los Angeles, California, established in 1994 by Kyle Gass and Jack Black, who are both musicians and actors. Their musical fusion blends crude absurd humor with rock melodies, creating a genre that critics have referred to as “parody rock.”
The duo initially rose to prominence in 1999 with their appearance in the eponymous television series “Tenacious D,” which aired on HBO. In the show, Black and Gass aimed to solidify their status as the “Greatest Band on Earth.” The series occasionally airs on Comedy Central and can be found on their DVD compilation, “The Complete Masterworks.” Furthermore, they have subsequently released two albums and starred in their own film, “Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny.”
Their most recent album, Post-Apocalypto, was released in November 2018.
