Marshall Expands Jimi Hendrix Anniversary Range With Purple Haze Hardware
Marshall is expanding its limited-edition Jimi Hendrix hardware range with a new trio of products. The latest releases draw inspiration from the cosmic imagery, space exploration, and distinctive use of color woven throughout Hendrix’s music and art.
Back in May, Marshall launched an initial wave of gear to mark the 60th anniversary of Hendrix first plugging into one of its amps, which included an Acton III Bluetooth speaker, a JMH Half Stack amp, and a Fuzz Face distortion pedal. The new batch builds on that milestone collaboration with three distinct pieces of hardware.
The New Hendrix-Inspired Line-Up
The first item in the new drop is a special edition of Marshall’s foldable on-ear Major V headphones. These feature a swirling oil-on-water purple and black finish across the ear cups and inner headband branding to mark the anniversary. They are priced at $159.99 / £129.99.
Joining the portable speaker lineup is the Emberton III Hendrix edition, sporting the same purple and black color scheme alongside purple LEDs. The top of the speaker features a silver all-seeing eye, and each unit is entirely unique due to a hand-dipped water transfer print on the silicone sleeve. It retails for $179.99 / £149.99.
Rounding out the trio is the portable Studio JMH amp, wrapped in black Tolex over plywood with silver beading detailing the dials, logo, handle, grille, and back panel. Marshall notes the amp delivers expressive cleans, deep blues textures, and harmonically rich amplified audio. The Studio JMH Half Stack Hendrix edition carries a price tag of $2499.99 / £1749.99.
A Lasting Connection
Janie Hendrix, President and CEO of Experience Hendrix and sister of the iconic guitarist, reflected on the partnership and her family’s history with the brand.
“The story of Jimi and Marshall has always been personal to me because I first heard it from my dad, Al Hendrix,” she said. “Dad was there and shared those memories with me, so I carry that story only one degree from its source. Jimi was always searching for a sound that did not yet exist, pushing beyond what anyone thought an electric guitar could do.”
“Marshall gave him the power and freedom to turn those bold ideas into a sound the world had never heard before. Sixty years later, that connection between Jimi and Marshall still speaks to new generations of musicians who are pushing creative boundaries and searching for their own sound.”
All three products are available now directly through the official Marshall website.
