Queens of the Stone Age Announce New Album ‘Perfecth’ With Bloody Video
Queens of the Stone Age have officially confirmed the title of their forthcoming studio album, Perfecth, rolling out the news via a tense, blood-soaked video clip. The new record follows the band’s eighth studio album, 2023’s In Times New Roman.
A Dangerous Album Announcement
The announcement arrived through a 90-second video featuring band members Josh Homme and guitarist-keyboardist Dean Fertita engaged in a game of five-finger fillet. In the clip, Fertita safely navigates the rapid knife-stabbing game before Homme takes a turn. Right as Homme prepares to play, Fertita asks when the new record is scheduled for release.
“Um, September 30th, I think?” Homme replies. After Fertita interrupts again to ask if he is excited, Homme smiles awkwardly and admits, “Uh, you’re kind of freaking me out… Yeah, yeah I’m excited. It’s going to be good.”
Things quickly turn chaotic when Homme plunges the knife straight through his right hand. As blood spatters the musicians, Homme admits that perhaps he won’t be around to see the album come out, after all. A voiceover then jumps in to announce the record before the September 30th date is crossed out on screen, leaving viewers with a revised release window of “Coming… soon?”
Continuing a Bloody Aesthetic

The focus on gore in the announcement video matches the band’s recent output. The music video for their single, ‘Easy Street’, similarly features a bashed-up Josh Homme being chased through a village by a mob of angry misfits before leading into a chaotic house party.
Perfecth will follow on from the band’s eighth studio album, 2023’s In Times New Roman, which landed a three-star review observing that the band are as sharp musically as they’ve ever been.
