Black Sabbath Back To The Beginning Film Trailer Released

The official trailer has been released for Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning, a feature-length concert film documenting the heavy metal legends’ massive reunion show at Villa Park in Birmingham. The film is set to arrive in cinemas on October 28, with tickets currently available.

Staged on July 5, 2025, the all-day event served as Ozzy Osbourne’s final bow following his 2023 touring retirement due to Parkinson’s disease and other health issues. The concert marked Black Sabbath’s first time onstage since 2017 and their initial performance featuring all four founding members—Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—since 2005. Tragically, Ozzy passed away just over two weeks after the event on July 22, 2025, following a heart attack at his Buckinghamshire home at age 76.

Inside the Setlist and All-Star Performances

The upcoming film will feature footage captured across every set from the historic day. Alongside headlining performances from Black Sabbath and Ozzy’s solo band, the event featured short slots from Metallica, Tool, Guns N’ Roses, Gojira, and numerous others performing original material alongside classic Sabbath and Ozzy covers.

The bill also showcased massive all-star supergroups featuring artists like Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, Tobias Forge, Yungblud, and Sleep Token’s II. Among the performances captured in the film is the rendition of “Changes” by Yungblud, II, Frank Bello, Adam Wakeman, and Nuno Bettencourt, which won the Best Rock Performance trophy at the 68th Grammy Awards in February.

A Historic Farewell in Aston

Held just a short distance from where Ozzy grew up in Aston, the event drew an instantly sold-out crowd of 44,000 fans, while a livestream was watched by over five million people. The landmark event raised an estimated $11 million (£8,323,425) for local charities, including Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Reflecting on the emotional final gathering, Geezer Butler shared after the news broke: “Four kids from Aston – who’d have thought, eh? So glad we got to do it one last time, back in Aston. Love you.”
