Beatles Charity Concert Santa Barbara: Strawberry Alarm Clock & More

A star-studded lineup of 1960s icons and Southern California vocalists is heading to the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, Calif. On Saturday, Oct. 17, the venue will host the second annual ‘Orchestrated Tribute to the Beatles + Hits of the 60s,’ put on by Earl Minnis in association with Rock Cellar Productions and the Get Together Foundation.

The multimedia event centers around The Tribe band tackling two cornerstone Beatles records in full: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Magical Mystery Tour, accompanied by the Folk Orchestra of Santa Barbara. In addition to the Beatles material, the night features performances from a deep roster of 1960s hitmakers and guest vocalists.

The bill boasts appearances from several legendary 1960s acts and session players, including:

Strawberry Alarm Clock (“Incense & Peppermints”)
Jay & the Americans (“This Magic Moment”)
Ron Dante of The Archies (“Sugar, Sugar”)
Dennis Tufano of The Buckinghams (“Kind of a Drag”)
Tom Garrett of The Classics IV (“Spooky”)
Darren Dowler of Paul Revere & the Raiders (“Kicks”)
Legendary keyboardist Don Randi of The Wrecking Crew and Nancy Sinatra

Additional guest performances feature Justin Fox of Dishwalla, Carly Smithson, Ken Stacey, Rosemary Butler, Hunter Hawkins, and Jean Fogelberg. Musical direction for The Tribe is handled by Phil Lo Presti, with more special guests still to be announced.

Supporting Local Santa Barbara Charities

Beyond the music, the event serves a philanthropic mission. Proceeds from the concert will benefit two Santa Barbara organizations: Adam’s Angels, a volunteer group aiding community members in need, and Santa Barbara Humane, an animal welfare non-profit providing pet adoption and low-cost veterinary care.
