Rolling Stones Confirm Upcoming Album Guest Stars: Paul McCartney and More!
The Rolling Stones have disclosed additional information about their forthcoming album, “Hackney Diamonds” slated to hit the airwaves on October 20.
This momentous occasion marks the band’s first foray into the studio album realm in nearly two decades. In an exclusive interview with The New York Times, the Rolling Stones members delved into the album’s creation process and officially announced the guest appearances of some music luminaries: Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Elton John, and Bill Wyman.
McCartney lent his distinctive bass talents to the track titled “Bite My Head Off,” while Wonder and Gaga made noteworthy contributions with their keyboards and vocals on “Sweet Sounds of Heaven.” Elton John, on the other hand, showcased his piano prowess in “Live by the Sword,” a composition that also boasts the unmistakable bass notes of the original Rolling Stones member, Bill Wyman.
The 12-song album, produced by Grammy-winner Andrew Watt (Post Malone, Elton John, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Ozzy Osbourne), will be released on Oct. 20.
But Jagger dropped a tantalizing hint that there’s more musical goodness in the pipeline. He remarked, “I don’t believe this marks the final chapter for The Rolling Stones in terms of albums. We’re already well into the creative process for our next record, with nearly three-quarters of it complete.”
The band’s previous album, “Blue and Lonesome,” was released seven years ago and consisted of blues cover songs. Notably, “Hackney Diamonds” marks their first release since the unfortunate passing of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021. Watts can be heard on two tracks, “Mess It Up” and “Live By The Sword,” while Bill Wyman, contributes to the former.
