Aerosmith Teases Live Return With Hollywood Bowl Dates
Aerosmith appears to be teasing a return to the live stage with a pair of upcoming shows at the Hollywood Bowl. The band shared a short video clip on social media showing frontman Steven Tyler alongside longtime photographer Ross Halfin outside the iconic Los Angeles venue, putting letters up on the marquee.
The marquee spells out “Aerosmith & Friends,” alongside two dates: Oct. 29 and Nov. 1. In the video, Halfin asks Tyler, “Don’t you miss performing?” to which Tyler replies, “Of all the things I ever missed, I missed my mind the most.” The clip concludes with a note promising that “all will be revealed” on Tuesday.
The Road to Retirement and Back
If confirmed, these performances will mark Aerosmith’s first live shows since September 9, 2023, when they played at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The band was forced to cut short their Peace Out farewell tour after just three shows due to sustained vocal cord damage for Tyler. In August 2024, the band officially announced their retirement from the road, stating that a full recovery from the vocal injury was not possible.
Despite the retirement announcement, various band members have stayed active. Tyler made several one-off appearances, including a Grammy watch party in February 2025, a San Francisco benefit show with guitarist Joe Perry in May 2025, and an Ozzy Osbourne tribute at the VMAs in September 2025. The group also collaborated on an EP with British singer Yungblud.
Looking Ahead
Speculation about a potential return has circulated for some time. Last year, Joe Perry spoke on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation about the possibility of reconvening, stating, “We’re talking about it… I know there’s got to be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I’m not looking forward to putting the set list together for that one.”
Fans won’t have to wait long for official confirmation. Full details were promised by the band.
