Deep Purple and Kansas officially got their 2026 summer tour underway at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina, with support from opening act Jefferson Starship.

Tour Opener Highlights

Despite boasting a 58-year recording career spanning 24 albums, Deep Purple dedicated nearly a third of their Raleigh set to material from their brand-new studio effort, SPLAT!. The heavy-hitting classic rock staples remained front and center as well. They featured performances of “Smoke on the Water,” “Highway Star,” and the set-closing favorite “Hush.”

Kansas kept their nine-song performance focused heavily on selections from 1976’s Leftoverture and 1977’s Point of Know Return. During their rendition of “Dust in the Wind,” the band welcomed founding guitarist Rich Williams to the stage.

Jefferson Starship opened the evening with a nine-song performance. Their set featured a brand-new track titled “Jet Pack” alongside a transition bridging Jefferson Airplane’s psychedelic 1967 classic “White Rabbit” with Starship’s 1986 chart-topper “We Built This City.”
